PXRD

A Bruker D8 powder X-ray diffractometer (PXRD) is available for structural analysis. This instrument is available for external use. Please contact the instrument manager if interested in instrument access/training or obtaining data on samples.

GPC

Two gel permeation chromatography (GPC) systems are available for polymer analysis. These instruments are available for external use. Please contact the instrument manager if interested in instrument access/training or obtaining data on samples.

Gas Sorption

Two Micromeretics ASAP2020 gas sorption analyzers are available for pore size and surface area analysis. These instruments are available for external use. Please contact the instrument manager if interested in instrument access/training or obtaining data on samples.

Instron

An Instron tensile strength analyzer is available for measuring the mechanical properties of solid samples (i.e., polymers). This instrument is available for external data collection upon request.

AKTA

An AKTA Pure system is available for purification of proteins. Use of this instrument is generally restricted to Cohen laboratory group members only.

Plate Reader

Two BioTek absorbance and luminescense plate readers are available for performing a variety of assay measurements. Use of these instruments is generally restricted to Cohen laboratory group members only.

Robotic Dispenser

A BioTek robotic liquid dispenser is available for setting up assay experiments in multiwell plates. Use of this instrument is generally restricted to Cohen laboratory group members only.

Thermocycler

An Applied Biosystems QuantStudio 3 thermocycler is avaialble for PCR experiments and thermal shift binding assays. Use of this instrument is generally restricted to Cohen laboratory group members only.

-80 Freezer

A -80 C freezer is available for deep cold storage of samples. Use of this instrument is generally restricted to Cohen laboratory group members only.

Centrifuge

A Beckman Coulter benchtop, refridgerated centrifuge is available for sample prepartion. Use of this instrument is generally restricted to Cohen laboratory group members only.

Probe Sonicator

A probe sonicator is available for sample preparation of materials or biologics (e.g., cells). Use of this instrument is generally restricted to Cohen laboratory group members only.

Floor Incubator

A floor incubator is available for sample incubation or cell growth. Use of this instrument is generally restricted to Cohen laboratory group members only.

Microscope

A high quality microscope is available for examining crystals prior to X-ray crystallographic analysis. This instrument is available for external use. Please contact the instrument manager if interested in instrument access/training.

ATR-FTIR

A Bruker ATR-FTIR is available for infrared analysis with minimal sample preparation. This instrument is available for external data collection upon request.

Luminescence Spectrometer

A Perkin-Elmer luminescence spectrometer is available for luminescence, fluorescence, or fluorescence polarization. This instrument is available for external data collection upon request.

UV-Vis Spectrometer

A Perkin-Elmer Lambda 25 UV-Vis spectrometer is available for measuring electronic absorption spectra. This instrument is available for external data collection upon request.

Autocolumn w/MS

Two Teledyne CombiFlash systems are available for performing automated separations. Use of this instrument is generally restricted to Cohen laboratory group members only.

Vacuum Ovens

Vacuum ovens are available for thoroughly drying compounds. Use of this instrument is generally restricted to Cohen laboratory group members only.

Microwave Synthesizer

An Anton-Parr microwave synthesizer is available for chemical synthesis. This instrument is available for external use upon request.

TGA-DSC

A Mettler-Toledo combined thermal gravimetric analyzer and differential scanning calorimeter (TGA-DSC) is available for thermal analysis of samples. This instrument is available for external data collection upon request.
